Royal Academy of Punjab

Discover how we built a responsive website for the Royal Academy of Punjab, enabling seamless student enrollment, showcasing art programs, and fostering community engagement in the world of fine arts.

Overview

This project was my first as a contractor with Skyrocket Digital, tasked with building a new website for the Royal Academy of Punjab. The academy is a school focused on teaching Indian Punjabi dance, music, and workshops, offered both in person and online. The organization undertook a complete rebrand to improve its online reach and establish a stronger market presence. While the academy had an existing website, the goal was to create a more modern, visually appealing, and functional platform to support its mission.

Project Scope

The primary aim of the project was to:

  • Bring a provided design to life using Webflow.
  • Integrate additional functionalities to enhance the website’s user experience.
  • Make the academy's services more accessible.
  • Showcase the classes, workshops, and overall offerings in a clear and engaging way to attract a broader audience.

My Role

I worked as the front-end developer for this project. My role was focused on implementing the visual design and functionality using Webflow, incorporating third-party integrations, and ensuring that the site was fully responsive and interactive across devices. I was responsible for integrating Elfsight plugins to handle specific features and writing custom JavaScript for additional functionality where Webflow’s tools had limitations.

Technology Stack

  • Webflow: Primary development platform for the site.
  • Elfsight: Used for third-party plugin integrations to add features not natively supported by Webflow.
  • Custom JavaScript: To address the need for bespoke functionalities, particularly for animations and interactive elements.

Challenges

The main challenge for this project was working within the constraints of Webflow’s built-in tools, especially in achieving a responsive, on-scroll Lottie animation that would work seamlessly across all devices. This required careful tweaking of both the animation and custom JavaScript to ensure smooth performance and proper functionality across mobile, tablet, and desktop platforms.

Client Collaboration

As a freelancing contractor for Skyrocket Digital, I had no direct interaction with the client. All feedback and revisions were handled through the Skyrocket team, who communicated the client’s requests and feedback to me.

Results & Impact

While I did not have direct visibility into the long-term results of the website after launch, the team informed me that the client was pleased with the final product. The rebrand and website revamp helped the Royal Academy of Punjab achieve a more polished online presence, positioning them better in the market and making it easier for students to explore and enroll in their programs.

Timeline & Delivery

The project took a couple of months to complete, with no major time constraints or deadlines. The timeline allowed for design implementation, development, testing, and revisions.

Post-launch Support

There was no post-launch support from my end, as my role was limited to the initial build and handoff of the project.
